FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What if my Cumulative GPA falls below 2.0?
If you fail to meet the minimum criteria for SAP will be placed on Academic/Financial Aid Warning status for one (1) quarter. You will remain eligible for federal financial aid during this quarter, however you must immediately meet with the Student Services Coordinator who will arrange a rigorous Academic Success Plan that will set concrete goals that must be met in order for you to meet minimum requirements of SAP. Your academic progress will be monitored throughout the quarter. If you fail to meet minimum requirements of SAP by the evaluation point at the end of the Academic/Financial Aid Warning quarter, you will be notified by the Director of Student Services by mail or email within five (5) business days of the end of the Academic/Financial Aid Warning quarter. Your eligibility for federal financial aid will be suspended, and you will be dismissed from the college.
What happens if I am dismissed for failure to maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress?
If you are dismissed for failing to meet the minimum requirements of SAP, you may appeal the dismissal in writing. The written appeal must be submitted to the Director of Student Services in person, by mail, or by email within 14 business days of the notice of dismissal. The written appeal for re-entry must state the mitigating circumstances you believe contributed to your failure to meet requirements of SAP leading to Academic/Financial Aid Dismissal. The written appeal must be supported with documentation of the mitigating circumstances and an explanation of how the circumstances have been remedied to ensure that you will be able to meet minimum standards of SAP if re-admitted.

At CCH, we believe it is important to take a stand by demonstrating our willingness to promote and inspire systemic change. We must speak honestly and truthfully to the ugliness of racism that permeates throughout our society today. It may be an uncomfortable conversation for some, but it is an all-too familiar reality for anyone living in this country with black or brown skin. Hiding from it, ignoring it, or being silent about it will not make it go away.
