Final exams for the Summer Quarter will be administered online according to the regularly scheduled exam period.

We understand it may be frustrating during this global pandemic to not have access to all of the tools and resources you are accustomed to having on CCH campus. Arrangements are in place to give students access to the required software or an equivalent needed in each course. Alternative curriculum has been developed to teach techniques and equipment remotely. Please discuss further questions and concerns about best practices for adapting to virtual study with your instructors and department chairs. Additionally, CCH will begin to host small size workshops and access to production areas.  Your faculty is working hard to provide the most appropriate solutions for your academic needs to ensure educational continuity.

We do not recommend that seniors take time off from completing their degree.

For Seniors working on their Thesis Projects, your department chairs have created alternate paths for you to complete your thesis projects in order to keep you progressing towards your degree as planned.

If any CCH community member tests positive for COVID-19, please alert us by emailing covid19response@columbiacollege.edu. In accordance with HIPPA law, we will not disclose the identity of the community member. We will simply report the possible exposure to anyone who may have had contact in the past two weeks.

Yes you can. For all continuing students enrolled in on ground degrees, if you are in the U.S. you can take in person and online glasses as required by SEVP to meet F-1 status requirements.

No, you do not as long as you plan to enroll in on-ground courses for Fall 2020.  You are still able to take online courses, but must take the minimum number required to still make normal progress in your degree program. We will work with you individually on your schedule to ensure that these criteria are met.

The current guidance from SEVP issued on July 6th states that continuing F-1 students have to limit their online classes. Students who elect to take all their classes online and do not enroll in on ground classes for the fall will need to consult the academic advisor.

• If you have a valid visa and travel signature, you can return to campus and enroll in on ground and online courses. Please ensure there are no travel restrictions limiting your arrival to the U.S. OR
• You may enroll in classes remotely in Fall 2020. Per the FAQs dated July 7, 2020, your SEVIS record will be kept “Active” and you will continue to accrue the benefits of your F-1 status.

We are aware of student concerns and travel restrictions. Your safety and wellbeing will be prioritized when decisions are made. 

None. In order to comply with local and state authorities, all on campus events have been temporarily cancelled.  We will reschedule events as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

Based on the advice of public health officials and the restrictions put in place by city and state authorities in addition to our duty to prioritize the safety of our community, we regret to inform you that the Commencement ceremony scheduled for June has been postponed to December 2020.

Be assured, however, that once we are on the other side of this difficult and extraordinary time, we will celebrate together and hold an in-person graduation ceremony to properly recognize the Class of 2020. We will continue to provide the latest information as it becomes available. Please continue to check your CCH email inbox, the college website, and social media to stay most up to date on campus developments.

No. Despite all of the adapting we are doing as a community, the operating costs for CCH will remain the same and the College will continue to incur the same expenses. For example, CCH instructors must continue to be paid, and they are putting in the same, if not more, work to maintain academic continuity for our students.

We know not being on campus is an adjustment. We are ensuring that the required educational outcomes are achieved regardless of modality. As outlined in the Student Handbook, if any student chooses to stay enrolled past add/drop for Summer Quarter, they will be responsible for tuition for the entire quarter. This policy remains in effect. As stated above, the operating costs for CCH will remain the same and the College will continue to incur the same expenses.

Stipend amounts will be administered via ACH electronic funds transfers. If stipend amounts are intended for the student, the student must complete a Direct Deposit Form authorizing the college to make a deposit.

Eligibility requirements for this program include: U.S. citizenship, current eligibility to participate in Title IV loan programs, and enrollment in primarily ground based programs on either the Los Angeles or Chicago campuses prior to the COVID-19 disruption. Students who were enrolled exclusively in an online program are not eligible for emergency financial aid grants.

The CARES Act provides institutions with significant discretion on how to award this emergency assistance to students. This means that each institution may develop its own system and process for determining how to allocate these funds, which may include distributing the funds to all students or only to students who demonstrate significant need. The only statutory requirement is that the funds be used to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus (including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and child care).  CCH is currently evaluating and developing the guidelines that will determine how funds are allocated.  Our objective is to do whatever is possible to support you and your classmates who have the greatest need.

Student housing is not contracted directly through CCH. Students needing information regarding contract termination should contact the housing representative.  Contact information can be found here.

The lease agreement is owned and operated by KAPI–not Columbia College Hollywood. CCH works with KAPIto provide housing options for students, but ultimately, the leases are agreements between the students and KAPI.

No. A student’s change in enrollment status with the College does not have any bearing on the fact that they are committed to an active lease with KAPI, a third party, directly. Students should contact KAPI for any questions related to housing leases.

Students currently receiving CCH counseling services will receive an email from their counselor confirming and/or rescheduling appointments that will continue to be offered via Telehealth. Students who are not currently receiving counseling services and need support may contact Laura Kaufman for assistance.
