The Associate of Fine Arts in Cinema-Television provides hands-on, practical experience with the basic technical, creative, and business elements involved in creating visual content for the film and television industries. A liberal arts foundation exposes students to the wider world of thought and ideas that enable critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to communicate ideas and opinions effectively.
AFA Cinema-Television (2018 & Prior) Program Requirements
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon successfully completing the AFA in Cinema-Television, students will be able to:
- Explain storytelling form and technique in cinema and television, from writing and development through production and post-production.
- Assess the practical needs of a given cinema or television production.
- Demonstrate competence with the tools and technologies of professional cinema and television production.
- Analyze cinema and television content with regard to the expressive forms and the influence of global culture.
